James McCurrach and Company were shipping agents. Letterbook, 1794-1800, has an index at the end of the volume. The ledger, 1790--1796, begins with entries titled as in account with Palyart & Co. of Philadelphia. In 1793, the titles read as in account with James McCurrach & Co. Philadelphia. A few of the accounts are entered in French. Based on the information provided in these volumes, their trading routes focused on the West Indies, including Santo Domingo and Jamaica.
