Description
Includes a pictorial envelope and letterhead containing an illustration depicting a collage of imagery, including a map of America bordered by scrolls of "Tracing Cloth," "Drawing Papers. Mounted and Unmounted," and "Tracing Papers"; a globe; lantern; and small tree branch. A banner reading "Map Publishers and Mounters" lays atop the map. Letterhead also contains a vignette depicting the monogram "E.P. & Co." intertwined with "N" surmounting a stack of bound works marked "Railway Guides"; "County Atlases"; Indexed Business Atlas U.S."; "General Atlas - World." A volume marked ’Guide Books" rests on the side of the stack of volumes. Banners reading "E. P. Noll & Co. Map Publishers and Mounters" and "No. 17 North 6th St. Philadelphia, Pa." complete the vignette. Insert announces the "increased facilities" of the manufacturers and details their mounting services for numerous mediums, including "Maps, Atlas sheets...Tracings...Show Cards...Solar Prints, Photographs &c. &c.," and "’Atlas Sheets on cloth a specialty. Mounting of Show Cards, Banners, Calendars, &c, with ’Tin’ at lowest rates, as well as products offered such as large sheets of drawing papers and mailing tubes. Form letter on letterhead solicits estimates and trials "on any Engraving, Printing, Binding, Mounting or Lithographs" for prospective patrons, including "Real Estate Dealers, Land Companies, Surveyors, and Civil Engineers" for the "best class of work at exceedingly low prices." E. P. Noll & Co. was established in 1881 by Edward P. Noll and G. Cusimir. In 1890, E. P. Noll assumed sole ownership of the firm which remained in operations into the 1920s.
