Title

Jubilate O be joyful.

Description

This piece is part of a collection entitled "The melodiae, a new book of sacred melodies - 6 parts containing old and new music by ancient and modern masters, arranged and composed by J.C. Beckel." Part 4 (solos, duets, trios, quartettes & sentences) is on tp, and lists 18 selections, none of which is Jubilate, O Be Joyful. No. 12 is printed on Page 2, but Jubilate does not correspond to number 12 on the tp. The last page is "A list of Phil. Trajetta’s theoretical and musical Works, lately published in Philadelphia." Phil. Trajetta may well be Filippo Traetta, 1777-1854, who settled in Philadelphia in 1822 (see brief biographical sketch of Traetta in The new encyclopedia of music and musicians by Waldo Selden Pratt, page 806).
